Lingua franca status
Currently the article claims Cantonese is the lingua franca of Guangdong province. Is this still true today, since the Chinese government has made Putonghua（普通话；Standard Chinese) the sole official language of mainland China? Cantonese as the common language of the province might have been the case among older generations, but it's hard to believe that is still true today. 66.215.184.32 (talk) 21:36, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
