Hello,
I was reading this article but I think the dates are not correct.
Handel was born and married and Anna died. Anna died before Handel was born?
Thank you.
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Anna was the first wife of Georg Händel, father of George Frideric Handel. George Frideric was born to Georg's second wife. I hope that clears up your confusion (I agree that the article is a bit confusing). Day Creature (talk) 21:58, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
Not German-British but German-born
Handel can't have been German-British. He went to Britain when he was already 25 years old, and he did not speak English neither as first language nor fluently. A German-speaker who emigrates to Britain when he is 25 years old, can't be British. There are almost no famous British composers, and that's why the Brits want to grab some of Handel's fame. Correctly, it would have to read in the opening paragraph: "German-born" or "German-born, naturalized British", or "German, naturalized British" composer. "German-British" implies that he was half German and half British, in any case it exaggerates the British element. Jakob-0404 (talk) 10:57, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
