Sobibor date error in extermination camps table

The extermination camps table lists Sobibor's mass gassing duration as "May 1942 - October 1942". The end date is wrong. It should be October 1943, not 1942.

Sobibor operated for about 17 months until the prisoner uprising on October 14, 1943. The table currently makes it look like the camp only ran for 5 months.

The same table already has Treblinka correctly ending in October 1943. Both camps shut down after uprisings around the same time, so Sobibor ending a full year earlier doesn't make sense.

Wikipedia's own Sobibor extermination camp article has the right date (May 1942 - 14 October 1943).

    Outside sources confirming 1943:

Just needs "1942" changed to "1943" in the Sobibor row. Thank you. WikiContrib24 (talk) 23:44, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

The sentence attributing 5.7 million Jewish deaths to ‘Germans and Romanians’ may be misleading, as it could imply only those groups were involved. Could this be rephrased for clarity?

Romanians did contribute to jewish deaths in the Holocaust, but this current wording can definitely be misleading as readers can assume that romanians killed millions of jews, which is not true. Alex270202 (talk) 17:51, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

The current wording says Around six million Jews were killed, with a conservative estimate being 5.7 million Jews killed by the Germans and Romanians, of which 5.4 million were killed under Nazi occupation.
The source says About 5.7 million Jewish civilians had been murdered by the Germans and Romanians, of whom some 2.6 million were Soviet citizens in 1941.
The source does not seem to say anything about this being a “conservative estimate”.
In my view, there is no danger of readers taking this sentence to mean that Romanians killed millions of Jews. Mikewem (talk) 20:31, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
