Political positions on climate change

I don’t think it’s accurate to say that she is in favor of limited action for climate change. She just is in favor of not banning fracking. In fact I think she is in favor of climate action based on looking at the political positions of Kamala Harris WikiGrower1 (talk) 21:50, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

It's not common practice to include "acting president" in the wiki box. This has never been included even for other people who have briefly assumed powers, like Dick Cheney it should really be reversed back as I'm not sure why it was included. It's not practice on any wikibox. ~2026-14366-11 (talk) 09:29, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

also I would just add. That by adding this section for acting President its gonna confuse people. Wiki isn't just for politcos like us who obsess over every little detail to the average person this is a confusing change. Harris and Cheney where Vice Presidents that's their highest titles... acting president has never been included and it shouldn't be. Wiki is here to provide people a easily accessible encyclopedia. The acting President stints where we'll covered and explained in the text for years so this doesn't need change. Harrywilliamrobinson606 (talk) 10:10, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
Question: Is the issue still there? I don’t know what you’re referring to.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate.Slomo666 (talk) 20:36, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

I just reverted it see below ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 20:37, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
Seems fine. Already done then. Thanks. Slomo666 (talk) 20:47, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Acting President in infobox

@S1r Gawa1n 2004 you added a section on Harris being 'acting president' for an hour to the infobox. I think this level of detail falls outside of the description of what should be included in infoboxes per WP:MOS. Please establish consensus here before re-adding the information. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 20:36, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Once again, thank you for your clarification. My reasons for adding this information were the same as when I added so to George H.W. Bush (13 July 1985) and Dick Cheney (29 June 2002 and 21 July 2007). S1r Gawa1n 2004 (talk) 00:42, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
Here also, having the information in the infoboxes is UNDUE per WP:PROPORTION. Per MOS:INFOBOX The less information that an infobox contains, the more effectively it serves its purpose, allowing readers to identify key facts at a glance. The service as acting president is already acknowledged in the body of the article, it doesn't serve readers well to have it in the infobox.
My apologies for sending the same message multiple times, but the talk pages of the articles might be on the watchlists of different editors. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 06:51, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

Harris bought a home in Malibu

Could someone add this information to her “Personal life” section?

Apparently the home cost $8 million.

I’m not here to speculate on her exact net worth without RS, but it’s clear that she has a significant net worth. Probably at least $10 million, up to $100 million.
Barack Obama is reportedly worth over $100 million as well.

So what? HiLo48 (talk) 02:55, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
I don’t have extended-confirmation-protection access yet.
I just wanted to add the Politico link to the talk page so I don’t forget. We generally add information about famous people buying expensive homes, the same way we add information about celebrities while complying with WP:BLP. LewisPatent (talk) 03:02, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
But why even mention Obama here? HiLo48 (talk) 03:07, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
I just remembered a similar article about Obama’s net worth as well.
Both Harris and Obama are still alive and active, while Biden is a retiree. LewisPatent (talk) 03:25, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
You've really lost me now. Why mention Biden? HiLo48 (talk) 03:33, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
Long story short,
Could you or someone else, if you have the time, add that she bought an $8 million home in Malibu, while complying with WP:BLP?
We are an encyclopedia, and we similarly mention when other famous people like celebrities buy expensive homes. LewisPatent (talk) 16:46, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
What is or isn't mentioned in articles is based on the weight of coverage in reliable sources. It's no up to Wikipedia editors to determine what they think is important or signficant. TFD (talk) 21:11, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
We generally add information about famous people buying expensive homes, the same way we add information about celebrities while complying with WP:BLP. Is Kamala considered a major celebrity, and is there enough coverage of her home purchases as to make it WP:DUE? DN (talk) 23:07, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
