Shouldn't panna cotta be listed on this page?
Technically, I guess panna cotta - being made largely of cream - may not be a custard. But, the texture is quite custardy. Should it be listed on this page? Thanks, Mike Davis Mikehospitalchaplain (talk) 13:30, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
Consolidate?
Comparing these two pages:
It seems that the first is nicely comprehensive and well illustrated, and the second is rather redundant. The second also clouds the natural conception of the custard as a category that can include sweet or savory (e.g., quiche) preparations. Any thoughts about consolidating the second into the first, and keeping the custards in one main category? (I've duplicated this across both Talk pages.) Zelchenko (talk) 01:34, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Zelchenko To be honest the list of custard desserts is pointless - the custard page is very small at only 14k, and thry could easily be combined and redirected to the main Custard article. The list of pies etc is a terrible article which I have highlighted at WikiProject Food & Drink. Thinks like Cookie dough pie, turnovers like Bridie and Bedfordshire Clanger shouldn't be on the list, and a large amount of the country descriptions dont match the article at all, Chess pie for example says UK on list but I have never heard of it, and the article says US! I am not the only editor to pick this up either as another did 6 years ago as per the talk page. Davidstewartharvey (talk) 13:45, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- You seem like you're really on top of this area, while I was just in the neighborhood briefly. I concur that any consolidation would be good. - I know how to do redirects (basically copy what you want across to the main article, then delete all bar the category section and adding the #REDIRECT with target page name at the top of the page) but not how to depreciate a page.
