FA

Isn't it about time this article becomes a featured article again? I would love to aid in helping build its status (once I finish Destiny's Child). I don't really mind going solo, but PHShanghai did mention a desire to help I recall. Many of the musical greats--Michael Jackson, Cher, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan--are already FA-status, so I think it'd only be right for this to be FA. 750h+ 11:35, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

I've been meaning to spruce this page up for that, but couldn't previously find an ideal time to do so. Thankfully it doesn't look like any falsified sources remain that led to the page being delisted in 2012. Either way, we should go for PR before renominating. I think i’d like to do a nice little CE if I can. 750h+ 14:37, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
Go for it, and once you finish your copyediting, the PR can begin! SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 14:41, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
Same, also currently busy at the moment but would love to reorganize and rewrite this article. Maybe around the holidays when there's no school, I plan to finish reading the Madonna: A Rebel Life book and then rewrite this article after that. @SNUGGUMS: if I did take this to FAC would you be open to co-nominating (as you've been largely involved). Or would this be more of a Beyoncé? 750h+ 11:43, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Also pinging @Bluesatellite: to see if they'd want to collaborate 750h+ 11:44, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Yes, I do wish to be a co-nominator at FAC please, and it would be a good idea to include Bluesatellite as one too. Before we go for it, let's be sure everything is properly archived where possible without the deprecated archive.today links that no longer are feasible to use. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 12:17, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Sure. I'm also going through some of the links for charts at the bottom of the article to make sure they verify what is said 750h+ 12:18, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Hello guys, sorry for delayed response. First of all, major props to 750h+ for revamping the quality of this article, and also to SNUGGUMS. I honestly don't want to take credits from both of you guys. Just go ahead and nominate this one, I will happily support and help whatever I can. Cheers! Bluesatellite (talk) 02:16, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
@SNUGGUMS: fine to nominate? 750h+ 12:53, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
I just made some last-minute adjustments to the page and will finally nominate this now. Fingers crossed that we succeed! SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 16:48, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
Congratulations @750h+ and SNUGGUMS: for the FA promotion! I'm very proud of the outstanding work you guys did that took to get the article finally to FA status and congratulate both of you on cleaning up the article! PHShanghai | they/them (talk) 10:30, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

Many thanks, PHShanghai, and I'm glad this was accomplished in time to have this be TFA for her 68th birthday in August! SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 11:31, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

Influences - minor rewrite

Randomly rewatching a couple of Madonna videos on YouTube and stumbled upon this 2022 interview where at 2:30 she states that her biggest primary musical influences when starting her career were Debbie Harry and David Bowie. With this in mind (and being a very recent source) I gave the paragraph a minor rewrite to reflect this, but please feel free to leave feedback or revert if truly necessary (per WP:BRD) if the rewrite doesn't comply with any particular editing guidelines. Thank you! PHShanghai | they/them (talk) 10:43, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

I also haven't touched any of the images yet as I feel that changing them may be unnecessary; Bowie is still probably Madonna's greatest muse, per the Billboard Women In Music speech, who also named Aretha Franklin as a principal influence of hers. Change of subheadings

I don't get why 2022 is marked as a new era for Madonna over 2026 and Cofessions II, when all she's done from 2022 to 2025 are remix albums and a tour. Her work from 2017 through 2025 could easily be merged together into "2017–2025: Move to Lisbon, Madame X, and remix albums". Confessions II marks a whole new era and Madonna's first album in seven years (as well as her first album released in this decade), hence why it makes more sense to start a new subheading from there. Hubert555 (talk) 12:43, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

2022 is a different section here because she's been sporadically releasing albums since then. Madame X and Confessions II appear in separate sections, so i'm why placing Confessions II alongside the remix albums would be an issue. If Confessions being a "new era" means we should separate the section, does that mean we should do it for every album? 750h+ 13:56, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
