This type of thing has been done before. A motion picture and or book that was called "To Serve Man" inspired a cookbook. The cookbook simply substituted man for any of the meat in many dishes. Sean

Since when has manbeef been an internet meme? --Redandyellow3 (talk) 18:14, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Actually, back in 2001 it was a big frigging deal. Lots of press coverage, lots of bandwith getting eaten up, including a paper in Sudan being shut down for two days simply for running a story on possible human flesh traffickers known as ManBeef. Snopes, and basically ever debunker, was trying to crack the hoax. The hoax was really good, though: well organized, well planned, well financed. Everyone smelled fraud, but no one could prove it to a certainty. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure was to "apply for membership," a process that never ended, and then actually shell out money that would either be lost forever or would result in pieces of people on your doorstep.
Snopes has an extensive history on it. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/manbeef.asp —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Egoist 1 (talkcontribs) 04:39, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Is Kittybeef and Puppybeef confirmed or suspected hoax?

Is Kittybeef and Puppybeef an confirmed hoax or is it just suspected of being a hoax from some sources around the blogosphere? Dino1993 (talk) 20:40, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

DNS error with PuppyBeef.com and KittyBeef.com

Attempting to connect to PuppyBeef.com and KittyBeef.com both give a server not found error, so I want to start this discussion: do these two sites be still up or not exist anymore? (I tried checking whois and that, I didn't really understand the renewed date it looked weird)  Preceding unsigned comment added by Vulpecular (talkcontribs) 09:34, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
