Midgar → Midgar (Final Fantasy)Midgar (Final Fantasy) – The name "Midgar" is basically the name "Midgard" missing the final letter. At first glance, it would be easy to mistake this page for the primary topic "Midgard" page. ThePoggingEditor (talk) 21:02, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. There's already a hatnote at the top of both the Midgar and Midgard pages, distinguishing both of them, which seems sufficient enough. The proposed title is an unnecessary disambiguation, but it should definitely be redirected to the current title. Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 21:26, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- And @Filelakeshoe since you also mentioned this. Wouldn't the proposed name be preferable to having the hatnote? For example (which happens to be a Final Fantasy VII example), the article Sephiroth (Final Fantasy) doesn't technically share the topic name with Sefirot, but was still disambiguated with the (Final Fantasy) part. - There it makes sense because "sephiroth" is another way of transliterating סְפִירוֹת which is attested in English, hence sephiroth without the disambiguator redirects to sefirot. Is the spelling "Midgar" without the D at the end ever used to refer to the ancient Germanic "world"? – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 22:26, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose, that's what the hatnote is for. No need for a disambiguator. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 21:34, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. (WP:NCDAB) A parenthetical disambiguation is unnecessary. The two words have distinct spellings and pronunciations, leading to natural disambiguation. Any confusion is clarified by the existing hatnotes. TheAlienAdventures (talk) 03:28, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose, SMALLDIFFERENCES applies.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:54, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
