Template:Uw-uaa

Information icon Thank you for making a report at Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention (UAA). However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have had an inappropriate username, or the username was not inappropriate enough to warrant an immediate block. UAA is for username policy violations that are serious enough to warrant an immediate block. General username policy violations should first be discussed with the user on their talk page. A helpful template to do just that is {{subst:Uw-username}}. Note that a username request for comment can be filed if the user disagrees that their name is against the username policy, or has continued to edit after you have expressed your concern. You may find the UAA instructions helpful, and I'd recommend reading them over prior to making future reports to UAA. Thank you.

Template documentation

Usage

  • {{subst:Uw-uaa}}
  • {{subst:Uw-uaa|Username}} references a specific username
  • {{subst:Uw-uaa|Username|Additional text}} adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"
  • {{subst:Uw-uaa||Additional text}} or {{subst:Uw-uaa|2=Additional text}} also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the username.

Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-uaa}} rather than {{Uw-uaa}}.

To customize your message, parameters are available; one to add the article name, and one to add additional text at the end of the message. If your param value contains an equal sign (as urls often do), then be sure to explicitly specify the positional parameter by number; i.e., use |1= or |2= followed by the value; e.g., |1=XYZ=Repainting, or |2=https://www.bbc.com/search?q=Kent+weather.
