Hello, I mostly do drive-by corrections when I can tell that something isn't right and have the spoons to figure out what to do about it. I'd like to eventually expand the scale of my editing (help with GA/FA stuff, create new articles, etc.), ...

... but I worry that the time and effort we're giving to build an encyclopedia is being taken for granted. WP:ACTRIAL, WP:SUPERPROTECT, WP:FRAMBAN, the 2025 BoT election nonsense, and now union-busting? When I read through those, I'm sometimes glad I didn't have an account (or wasn't sufficiently active) and didn't experience them in real time.

Why should I dive into WP:MOS and its minor outlying pages, or familiarize myself with templates or processes, or participate in XfDs or RfCs or AfCs, when everything's ultimately under the thumb of a corporation that doesn't care what we think? There are other open, collaborative projects that don't have this major governance problem looming over them, and where my existing skills are even better suited. I could have all the fun of climbing a steep learning cliff and building something neat alongside all sorts of interesting people, without constantly wondering if I'm getting too emotionally invested in something I'll be soured on the next time WMF leadership pulls rank in a patently nonconstructive way.

Anyway, that's where I'm at right now, editing-wise.
