Strictly Business... and Music
I focus on topics related to entrepreneurship, with a particular interest in ethnic entrepreneurship and the business of music. Much of my work develops across related articles and drafts, where a concept in one article may lead to the creation of a new page (for example, blocked mobility emerging from work on immigrant entrepreneurship). As a result, sourcing is often shared across articles, and I am building familiarity with the literature over time.
When gathering sources, I typically begin with academic databases such as JSTOR and extend that to platforms including Wiley Online Library and other scholarly sources, along with relevant news coverage. I have institutional access to many paywalled materials, and I read sources directly to assess their relevance and accuracy. I focus on clear summarization of published research and take care to avoid synthesis.
A note on AI-assisted tools
I use automated tools in a limited and supporting role, primarily for citation formatting in combination with Citer Toolforge, and for technical checks. I may also consult them to clarify concepts during the research process, but all article content is based on my own reading and interpretation of sources, and I write all of my own prose. Academic sources and Wikipedia’s emphasis on neutrality can sometimes result in formal or technical phrasing.
Criticism
I strongly welcome constructive criticism.
