Anna Moog (born Anna Tsartsidze, Georgian: ანა ცარციძე) is a Georgian classical soprano. She has performed extensively throughout Europe and has appeared in productions with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Baden State Theater, and various international festivals. Initially focused on operatic roles, Moog has more recently concentrated on concert performances, specializing in early music, oratorio, and contemporary repertoire, while also presenting classical music in accessible concert formats for broader audiences.
Early Life and Education
Born into a family of musicians in Georgia,[1] she began singing at the age of six and became a member of the Georgian children's ensemble Mziuri,[2] which gained recognition throughout Georgia and the former Soviet Union. During this time, she began playing the bass guitar, her first instrument.
At the age of seven, she made her first appearance on the opera stage Georgian National Opera Theater as a Shepherd in Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, conducted by Jansug Kakhidze.
She studied vocal performance at the Tbilisi State Conservatory under Professor Svetlana Egorova, graduating with distinction. She continued her studies in Lied at the University of Music and Dance Cologne under Professor Brigitte Lindner.
Since 2014, Moog has been based in Düsseldorf, Germany, where she continues her career as a classical singer and concert producer.
Career
Moog began performing at an early age alongside her sister Sofiko as part of the "Tsartsidze Sisters" duo. Tsartsidze sisters newspaper article 2008.pdf
Moog made her operatic debut at the age of 21, performing the role of Ismene in Mozart's Mitridate,re di Ponto,მითრიდატე at the Rustaveli Theater in Tbilisi. She later sang the role of Tigrane in Handel's Radamisto [3]. These roles influenced her specialization in early music.
Since 2016, Anna Moog has collaborated with the piano manufacturer KAWAI, performing presentation concerts on both digital and grand pianos across various cities in Germany.[4][5][6][7]
In 2020, Moog won the main prize at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg competition in Berlin. She also participated in Placido Domingo's Operalia [8]. In 2023, she received second prize at the Lions Club Lied Competition in Cologne. [9]
Moog was a soloist in the opera studio at Deutsche Oper am Rhein,[10] performing in productions in Düsseldorf and Duisburg. Her roles included Blondchen Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro, Tebaldo Don Carlo,[11] Papagena Die Zauberflöte[12], Giannetta L'elisir d'amore [13] , and the Princess in Die Schneekönigin by Marius Felix Lange[14].She has also appeared as a guest at the Baden State Theater [15], Arnstadt Theater[16][17][18]
Since 2021, Moog has also been active as a concert producer, initiating and organizing artistic projects.Among these projects was a public concert at Düsseldorf Airport titled Eine musikalische Reise vor der Reise supported by the Kulturamt Düsseldorf[19] and the piano company KAWAI. The project received public funding from the Kulturamt Düsseldorf, as listed on the Kulturamt Düsseldorf's website.[20] In Cologne, she produced a classical concert series as part of the Mittendrin - Nimm Platz,[21] which was also supported by the Cologne Kulturamt.[22] In 2024, she produced a concert tour in Texas with the Si-Mi [23]. She also created and performed in a special program titled Highlights of Classical Music[24] at La Alquería, in Andalucia, Spain alongside her mother, violinist Elene Tsartsidze.[25]
Anna Moog actively promotes Georgian music and regularly includes Georgian repertoire in her concert programs.[26]
Concert and Festival Performances
Moog has performed at international festivals including the Tbilisi Baroque Festival, [27] and Autumn Tbilisi.[28] She has sung at the Goldberg Baroque Festival[29] in Poland.
In 2016, Anna performed in Tbilisi the Frühlingsstimmen Waltz with the Georgian National Opera Theater Orchestra at an open-air New Year's Eve concert, which was broadcast live on national television.[30]
In 2017, she performed Spanish zarzuela with the Starkenburg Philharmonic Orchestra[31] in Mannheim under Günther Stegmüller.
In 2022, Anna Moog showed her solidarity with Ukrainians by performing at a charity concert held at Galerie Lausberg[32] in Düsseldorf.
In 2023, Anna Moog performed in a gala concert in Tartu, Estonia, accompanied by pianist Irina Oja. The event was associated with the International Josef Hassid Violin Competition (rahvusvaheline Josef Hassidi nimeline viiuldajate konkurss).[33]
In 2024, Anna Moog collaborated with the Urania Theatre[34] in Cologne, performing opera arias in the Extraordinary Production - Varieté Solavento: Oper goes Varieté.[35]
In 2024 and 2025, Anna Moog performed the role of an opera diva named Anna Moog in The Messiah by Patrick Barlow, produced by the English Theatre Düsseldorf.[36]
In 2025, Spanish newspaper La Voz de Almería published a feature article about Moog’s artistic activities in Adra, Spain, including her efforts to promote classical music through public concerts and the Festival Internacional Anna Moog.[37]
In 2026, Moog appeared as a guest performer at the Día del Municipio celebrations in Adra, Spain.[38]
