Re: Questions

But still, I'm really curious how an atheist can answer life's questions without involving God!

Very easily, in fact, but more importantly, not everything in life has an "answer". Non-theists are comfortable with not knowing and uncertainty, while theists are not. This is not really a matter of theology, philosophy, or even hard science, it is a subject for psychology. If you cultivate equanimity and let go of trying to have answers, you will come to understand that any answers you do find just lead to more questions. You may be interested in the popular entertainment value of Alan Watts, as this was his main subject. The honest truth is that there are no answers, only questions. Some people find this deeply unsatisfying and turn to religion to self-soothe. We shouldn't fault them for this. Life is short and difficult. Viriditas (talk) 22:23, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

Hi Viriditas
Thank you for your message! I think you're quoting something I said once or recently, right? Could you tell me where and when I said that again?
Alan Watts is very inspiring! Tonight, I came across the ideas of philosophers such as Robert S. Corrington and Ralph Waldo Emerson, among others.
At this point, I've probably changed my mind in the sense that, since we can't define God, we can't say whether God exists or not. More and more, I'm starting to believe – and it's remarkable, too, that this message of yours came practically out of nowhere but really arrived at exactly the right moment for me – that we are all part of a great universal consciousness. (The universe has arranged it so that you're writing this comment because I need it as a being, or something like that. The universe works in mysterious ways...)
My human ego-self does not realize that the conscious soul-self (by which I mean the observer of my human ego-self) is the same observer as the observer of your human ego-self. And vice versa. In that sense, I think we're all connected through universal consciousness.
Once upon a time, the physical, visible universe was one with the conscious observer deep within us, but after it somehow began to see itself as a separate, unconscious object, the universe was created – or rather, imagined by the conscious observer. I think, I feel and I believe that everything we see in reality is a reflection or manifestation of our desires within the universal consciousness.
Just as I gain insights from your comment, I hope that my comment will also resonate with you. That way, we can help each other expand our higher consiousness!
But, everything I've written above is what I think, feel and believe to the best of my human ability. And since I perceive and experience things only from my human perspective, I can never say with certainty that it is correct and true. Philosophical skepticism (primarily Pyrrhonism) is perhaps the best philosophy of life.
I truly appreciate that you took the time to post this message on my talk page. I hope you have a wonderful day or night!
Kind regards,

Subject areas in parentheses

It's true that I made the edit you referenced to awareness but that page doesn't have a subject area in parentheses. It's different when a page does. GTP Loopbreaker (talk) 21:00, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

Dear GTP Loopbreaker, I hadn't seen the discussion on the talk page there yet. Regarding your argument here: is a subject area in parentheses really necessary? Because, what about Mercury (planet), Mercury (element) and Mercury (mythology)? In those cases, the opening sentences aren't "In planetology", "In chemistry" or "In mythology" either. Or what about Java and Java (programming language)? Or Spring (season), Spring (device) and Spring (hydrology)? None of these articles begin by stating that this is the subject or case in a particular field. So what do you think about that? I will also post a reply on the discussion page there! Kind regards, Perquirius (talk) 21:34, 27 June 2026 (UTC)

A discussion about you was started at WP:ANEW

This discussion is about your edit warring and not accepting articles not being the way you want them. GTP Loopbreaker (talk) 00:23, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Did you report yourself too? Or did you just report me? I find it rather childish to avoid a discussion by silencing your opponent instead of engaging with their arguments, if I may say so. Kind regards, Perquirius (talk) 00:35, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Discussion moved to WP:ANI

Hi Perquirius, the discussion has been moved to WP:ANI. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 08:34, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Dear ToBeFree, thank you for letting me know! Have a nice day! Kind regards, Perquirius (talk) 08:36, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
