Regional amateur youth team. Does not pass WP:CLUB. Shirt58 (talk) 05:18, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Keep: Many teams at this level have a Wikipedia page, which includes ten other teams from the exact same league as the Junior Thunder (Western States Hockey League). --ilamb94 (talk) 05:44, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Let's look at one team at a time. I'm fine with a re-direct to the league, by the way.
It would appear to be that "This article should be deleted because a Hockey team at this level in any other country in the world would not be notable" is the other side of WP:OTHERSTUFF. Being in the US does indeed mean that it might have received more significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject than if it were somewhere else in the world. (nb: I live somewhere else in the world.) --Shirt58 (talk) 06:37, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Delete see WP:OTHERSTUFF and refer to this debate (I thought the same thing, that because similar articles existed so too should that one) Dave Fipp AFD debate. Go Phightins! (talk) 02:49, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Keep This team has received plenty of independent coverage as do most teams at this level of hockey. It doesn't actually matter that it might not be well known in another part of the world as long as it is well known in one part. As long as it has independent coverage then that is all that matters. This isn't a youth team its a junior team, there is a big difference. Youth teams are for young kids and anyone can pay to play. Junior teams are teams with higher calibre athletes that are on the team based on skill. -DJSasso (talk) 12:01, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Delete Lacks significant from "multiple" independent sources: The vast majority of articles are from the local Wichita paper, and a lot of them are about the Thunder association (ie hockey at every age level), not specifically the Junior (U-20) team. I found a couple references in the Kansas City paper of the KC team playing said Thunder association, but nothing significant beyond being the opponent of the day. • That would be because its a new team in the league that is starting this season. There is not a lot of point deleting a page that will have plenty of coverage in a month when the season starts. That being said. All it takes to meet "multiple" is two sources. -DJSasso (talk) 14:51, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Keep - Per DJSasso. Rlendog (talk) 18:55, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Keep New team, the article certainly needs improvement... but notable none-the-less. DMighton (talk) 00:30, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
