Filmography table

There has been an editor that has been removing the sources from the filmography tables of many actors and they have said that this is to be consistent with other Wikipedia articles. However, myself and other users both agree that per WP:BURDEN, having the sources in the filmography table is a good thing as it lets readers verify more easily, especially since many readers only view the filmography table, and is overall better for navigation. It also makes it easier to check/verify if an editor introduces deliberate factual errors in the table. If tables do not have sources, then readers need to go through all of the prose to find the information. Can a line be put in the guidance for existing references to not be removed from filmography tables (unless unreliable)? DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 18:42, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

I don't typically see sources added to filmography tables, and I probably wouldn't make a point of requesting citations for them...though if citations are there, removing them seems like a non-productive endeavor. I might request citations if a film without its own article was added and/or there was no sourced mention of the film elsewhere in the article, though. But if we're talking about a bluelinked film that simply doesn't have a citation, it's easy enough to search the article to see whether the film is mentioned elsewhere with a citation, and that feels sufficient to me. A lot of these are not just films but also TV shows that are guest casts (and hence the show page will not have it) and also other short films that do not have links. I do think that if a table does have a references table it should not be removed as it just removes navigation and is counterproductive. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 19:29, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
With regard to TV show guest appearances, one should be able to name the episode (or at least the season) in which the actor appeared; at that point I likely also wouldn't push for a citation. Many TV show articles do have lists of more notable guest appearances, though that's not exhaustive. I think we're on the same page that removing references if they're already there is just a big "Why are you doing this?" DonIago (talk) 19:35, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
As far as I can tell, the main reason filmography tables in biography pages often lack citations is because they replicate listings already discussed and sourced within article prose. If guest appearances found under such tables aren't already sourced within the body beforehand, then they certainly would require citations. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 21:17, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

Jesús Manuel Montané

Please add reliable sources, or consider taking to WP:AfD. Bearian (talk) 02:41, 26 May 2026 (UTC)

Never mind. I updated the tags. There are no inline tags, but that's acceptable for now. Thank you anyway. Bearian (talk) 04:34, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Brendon Ryan Barrett

This actor is probably not notable. Please either add sources, or send it to WP:AfD. Thanks in advance. Bearian (talk) 04:47, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

Yannis Maroudas

Please add reliable sources. It's claimed that he won an award, but it's unclear if it's notable or even true. If you can't find reliable sources either, then please consider going to WP:AfD. Bearian (talk) 02:26, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

Jason Paige article concerns

Hi. I wanted to flag at the relevant project. I have concerns over the content at Jason Paige. It's mostly unsourced trivia with limited reliable sources. Does the subject actually meet WP:GNG? If nominated for AfD, do you think this project would be supportive? Or are there sources out there, and if yes, is anyone willing to dig them up? Thanks. DaHuzyBru (talk) 12:20, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

I have also posted at WT:MUSICIAN. DaHuzyBru (talk) 12:23, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Bruce David Janu

Notice

The article Bruce David Janu has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged for notability concerns for almost 12 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Insufficiently sourced BLP. Created by SPA with 57 edits, and extensively edited by the subject himself and his students, one of whom literally asked for bribes in the edit summary. The only claim to notability is creating a "Frank Sinatra Detention Club" that is a one-news-cycle incident.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

@Bearian: Where is the edit summary where they asked for bribes? I cannot find it DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 03:36, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
I don't know if it's really his student, or a joke. Bearian (talk) 03:56, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
