- 5 February — A tenth-grader injured two students with an axe at a school in Kulsary, Atyrau Region.[1]
- 25 February — A Sukhoi Su-30 of the Kazakh Air Defense Forces crashes during a training flight in Karaganda Region. Both pilots safely eject.[2]
