Alpha Chi Pi Omega (ΑΧΠΩ) is a historically black sorority and fraternity for beauticians and barbers. Alpha Chi Pi Omega began as an outgrowth of the United Beauty School Owners and Teachers Association. It was organized by Marjorie Stewart Joyner on October 27. 1945, in Washington, DC, with Mary McLeod Bethune assisting and Congressman William L. Dawson as a national sponsor. It was originally founded as Alpha Phi Omega (ΑΦΩ) but changed its name at their 1952 Boule at the request of the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity. The purpose of the organization is to raise the educational standards of beauticians and to perpetuate the names of the founders of beauty school systems..

To: All Members of NU Rho Sigma Eta Beta Mu Fine Arts Fraternity, Incorporated for Men & Women. Effective IMMEDIATELY, there will no longer be a National Board. In our efforts to revamp our organization and carry out the vision that was set forth by the NU-Torious 12+1, we need time as founding members to adjust accordingly. We initially established the national board as a liaison between the founding members and the members at large. Until we get where we need to be there is no such need for that level at this time. All correspondence should be made through Kile M. Walton Sr, James Hill or any other member of The NU-Torious 12+1. We pray everyone is doing well and continue to live in Excellence. Philmarmonically Yours, The NU-Torious 12+1!
