Chaltonlien Amo is an Indian politician.[1] He was a member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly from Tipaimukh Assembly constituency and hails from the Bharatiya Janata Party.[2][3][4] He had won four times as an MLA from the same constituency.[5] Chaltonlien is from the Hmar tribe.

Early life and education

Chaltonlien Amo was born on 1 March 1955 in Patpuihmun village in present-day Pherzawl district, Manipur, to D. R. Thuoma.[6] Amo obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Regional Medical College (RMC), Imphal, in 1980.[7] Before entering politics, he worked as a medical practitioner and social worker.[8][9]
