Asian Le Mans Series

The 2026–27 Asian Le Mans Cup is the inaugural season of the Asian Le Mans Cup. It adopts the LMP3 class which is being dropped from the Asian Le Mans Series due to the introduction of the Hypercar Pro/Am class. The series will feature GT3 and LMP3 type cars, with LMP3 beeing split between the LMP3 and LMP3 Pro/Am class depending on the drivers FIA licenses.[1]

On June 12, 2026, the launch of a support series for the Asian Le Mans Series, named the Asian Le Mans Cup was announced, following the success of the Le Mans Cup and the dropping of the LMP3 category from the Asian Le Mans Series. The series is intended to race alongside the Asian Le Mans Series and provide a stepping stone for drivers into endurance racing.

Predecessor

The 2026-27 Asian Le Mans Cup marks the first time since the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup in 2017, that an ACO organised ‘sub-series’ has been organised in Asia with LMP3,CN, GT3 and Cup machinery being eligible at the events held in Sepang in 2017.[2]

Calendar

The series will run as a support series on the same weekends as the Asian Le Mans Series.[3]

Location issues regarding the race weekends

The 2026–27 Asian Le Mans Cup was originally meant to take place at events in the Middle East and Malaysia; however, due to instability in the Middle East, it is expected to take place in Europe unless the situation improves.[4]
