2btube is a Spanish-language multi-channel network (MCN) and digital media company headquartered in Madrid, Spain. Founded in 2014, the company represents and provides services to Spanish-speaking content creators on YouTube and other social and video platforms, and works with brands on influencer marketing and branded content.[1][2][3] It is listed as a partner in the YouTube Creator Services Directory and in Meta's Third-Party Partner Program for creators.[4][5]

History

2btube was founded in September 2014 in Madrid by Fabienne Fourquet, a former A+E Networks and Canal+ executive, and media entrepreneur Bastian Manintveld, with the aim of professionalising the ecosystem of Spanish-speaking digital content creators.[1]

Within two years of its launch, the network represented around 150 creators and was approaching 400 million monthly views; Wired described it at the time as the 24th-largest multi-channel network in the world.[3] By 2017 it represented a roster of around 600 creators reaching more than 100 million YouTube subscribers and roughly one billion monthly video views.[1][6]

In 2016, the company ran a two-week summer camp near Madrid, held at Francisco de Vitoria University, aimed at teaching young people how to become YouTubers; the camp was the subject of a feature in Wired.[7][3] The same year it expanded its children's vertical, 2bkids.[7]

In May 2017, 2btube launched a dedicated music division, 2btunes, to manage and monetise YouTube musicians, with artists including Alex Aiono.[1][2] In June 2017, it signed an agreement with AwesomenessTV to produce and manage the company's Spanish-language YouTube presence.[6]

In December 2018, 2btube acquired a majority stake in the Ecuadorian production company Touché Films, the studio behind the Spanish-language comedy channel Enchufe.tv, which at the time had close to 20 million YouTube subscribers; the deal was announced in January 2019.[8]

Operations

2btube operates across several lines of business, including a creator network, an influencer-marketing and branded-content agency, content production, and creator financial services. The company has maintained offices in Madrid, Miami, Mexico City and Quito.
