Alceu Elias Feldmann is a Brazilian agricultural engineer and entrepreneur. He is the founder and head of Fertipar, a major Brazilian fertilizer group. His net worth has been estimated at between US $3 billion and US $3.7 billion in recent rankings.[1][2][3] He is the 23rd wealthiest person in Latin America.[4]

Early life and education

Alceu Elias Feldmann was born on July 1, 1949, in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil.[3][5] He earned a degree in agricultural engineering from the Federal University of Paraná and later entered the agribusiness sector.[5][6]

Career

Feldmann founded Fertipar in 1980 in the state of Paraná. He expanded the company from a small operation into a nationwide fertilizer group.[7][8][5]

By 2019, Fertipar reported revenues of about US$1.7 billion, rising to about US$3.9 billion in 2021. The company has been estimated to hold around 15% of Brazil’s fertilizers and pesticides market.[1][5][7]

Feldmann serves as chairman and chief executive officer and owns approximately 85% of the company. Fertipar employs about 2,100 people across several Brazilian states.[7]

The Feldmann family has also been involved in philanthropic activities in Brazil, supporting various social and community initiatives. In addition to their business activities, members of the family have participated in cultural and social organizations.[5]

Personal life

Feldmann has three children. He keeps control of Fertipar within his family.[3][5]

His eldest son, Alceu Elias Feldmann Filho, is a professional racing driver. He has competed for 13 seasons in Stock Car Brasil.[9]
