Alisa Dudaj (born 13 August 1998), who works under the stylized brand name ALISADUDAJ*, is an Albanian fashion designer. She is known for combining traditional Albanian handcraft techniques—such as hand embroidery, wet felting and hand knitting—with minimalist, monochrome contemporary womenswear.[1][2] She won the inaugural Muza Competition in Albania in 2022, and has since presented collections at New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.[1][3][4]
Early life and education
Dudaj developed an early interest in art and was enrolled in painting classes as a child.[5] She has said her interest in textiles dates to early childhood, when she learned to knit alongside her grandmother.[1] She moved to the United States for her final year of secondary school and later studied at Parsons School of Design in New York City, graduating as a fashion designer in May 2022.[5][3]
Career
In 2022, Dudaj won the first edition of the Muza Competition in Tirana, a design contest with more than 350 entrants from Albania and the Albanian diaspora, with a collection titled "Calidus".[1][5] The award carried a €20,000 prize, part of which she used to establish her label and produce her first formal collection.[1]
After the competition she based her work between Albania and the United States, collaborating with Albanian artisans to incorporate handcrafted techniques into her designs.[1][6]
In February 2024, Dudaj presented the collection "Alpine Whispers" at New York Fashion Week through the Flying Solo platform.[3][7] In September 2025, she showed a collection titled "Silent Engravings" at London Fashion Week via Fashion Scout, held at Protein Studios in Shoreditch.[4][2]
Design

Dudaj's work is characterised by a minimalist, monochrome palette of cream, white and black, and by an emphasis on slow fashion through limited production runs.[4][2] Her collections employ natural fibres and traditional craft techniques, including wet felting, hand embroidery and hand knitting reinterpreted in a contemporary style.[2] She has cited Albanian folklore, family memory and traditional craftsmanship as central influences on her work.[1][8]
