A number of the sources lead back to the subject more directly, such as the UJS profile, again OK for verification mostly, but not for notability. Arieh Miller is a British communal leader and executive who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Jewish Council (CJC) , an organisation representing and supporting Jewish communities across the Commonwealth of Nations. He is a former Chief Executive of the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) and has held governance and advisory roles within UK Jewish communal institutions. Miller was named number 1 in the Jewish News' "30 under 30".[1]. Miller lives in London and is heavily involved in local community and sports initiatives, as well as writing extensively for the Jewish News[2], the Times of Israel Blogs[3], and other national and international publications.

Miller is a former Company Director of the North Western Reform Synagogue [4], and is a member of the Global Jewry Advisory Council [5]. In 2005 Miller composed a piece for the Brodsky Quartet featured on their album "Moodswings"[6]. Also featured on the same album are artists such as Sting, Elvis Costello, and Bjork.

Early Life and Education

Miller grew up in North London, attending Akiva Primary School [7] JFS secondary School and then the [[University of Leeds]] where he studied Managing Performance [8]. Growing up Arieh spent time with the Jewish Youth Movement [[RSY-Netzer]] over several years from participant to paid leader, as well as Jewish Scouts, Maccabi GB, UJS Hillel, Limmud, Jeneration, JLGB through the DofE, and numerous other Jewish organisations[9]. Miller is studying for an MSc in Organisational Leadership and Innovation at the Zelikow School of Non-Profit Management.

Professional and Voluntary career

Commonwealth Jewish Council

Miller was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Jewish Council in 2025[10]. The CJC works with Jewish communities in more than forty Commonwealth countries, focusing on leadership development, governance support, community sustainability, and diplomatic engagement[11] [12].

Union of Jewish Students

Miller served as Chief Executive of the Union of Jewish Students from 2019-2025, the representative body for Jewish students in the United Kingdom and Ireland[13]. During his tenure, UJS continued its work in campus advocacy, interfaith engagement, and student leadership development, winning a major Government procurement to tackle antisemitism on campuses[14]

Zionist Federation

Miller served as Executive Director of the Zionist Federation from 2015 - 2019 [15] leading the organisation through 4 years of increased political engagement, cross-communal activities, and bringing opposing sides round the table. It was during his time leading the ZF that Miller was awarded first place in the Jewish News 30 under 30[16].

Voluntary Work

Miller is a trustee of a Jewish sports club, sits on the Maccabi GB Sports Committee, is a School Governor of Wolfson Hillel Primary School (Enfield) and former Governor of Akiva School (Barnet) and spent more than 10 years volunteering for the London Ambulance Service as a Community First Responder. Miller has recently written a paper for the newly published book: Progressive Judaism, Zionism and the State of Israel[17]
