Calle Henzel

Calle Henzel is a Swedish artist and designer. He founded Henzel Studio in 1999.[1]

Career

Henzel Studio produces hand-knotted rugs.[2]

The studio has shown work at Barneys New York,[3] Colette in Paris,[4] JOYCE Hong Kong,[5] and Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Milan.[6]

Collaborations

Henzel Studio has collaborated with artists including Nan Goldin,[7] Richard Prince,[8] Mickalene Thomas,[9] Marilyn Minter and Juergen Teller.[10]

The studio has also collaborated with Helmut Lang.[11]

The studio has also worked with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts on rug editions based on works by Andy Warhol.[12]

Exhibitions

Works produced through Henzel Studio Collaborations were included in the exhibition Wall to Wall: Carpets by Artists, presented at the Katonah Museum of Art in 2017.[13]

In 2019, Henzel Studio presented an exhibition with the Los Angeles gallery Twentieth/The New.[14]

Works included in Henzel Studio Collaborations were also presented at the Goss-Michael Foundation in Dallas.[15]

In 2025, the exhibition Henzel Studio Collaborations: 1st Decade was presented at the PDC Design Gallery in Los Angeles.[16]
