The City of Architecture is a UNESCO designation launched in 2005 as part of its wider Creative Cities Network. The Network, which launched in 2004, has member cities in eight creative fields. The eight fields are Architecture, Crafts and Folk Art, Design, Film, Gastronomy, Literature, Media Arts, and Music.[1]
Unlike the other fields, a panel integrated by the International Union of Architects (UIA) and experts of the Creative Cities of Design, along with independent experts, evaluate applications to become a City of Architecture.[2]
