Dr Farhan Shahzad is an Australian occupational and environmental physician, medicolegal expert, and author. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (FAFOEM) of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI).

Early Life and Education

Dr Shahzad completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2003 in his native Pakistan.

Following his medical training, he pursued postgraduate qualifications in occupational medicine, aviation medicine, and workplace health. He holds a Master of Occupational Medicine in Health and Safety, and various post-graduate qualifications from universities in Australia.

He resides in Sydney, Australia with his wife, Rabia, and his three children.

Career

Dr Shahzad has worked extensively in occupational medicine, occupational health consulting, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, and medicolegal assessment.

He has held positions across Australia in hospitals, mining operations, oil and gas projects, corporate health services, and government organisations. He is an expert reviewer, and his expertise has been sought for peer reviews, authorship, and global conferences.

Clinical and Occupational Medicine

Since 2011, Dr Shahzad has worked as a consultant occupational physician. His medical career pans numerous countries. He is the founder of Meducation, an online learning platform that offers continuous professional development courses for medical professionals and allied healthcare workers.

Entrepreneurship

Dr Shahzad served as Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director in Western Australia. He is the founder of a leading charity in Pakistan.

Publications and Writing

Dr Shahzad has authored academic papers, media articles, and workplace health publications on topics including occupational medicine, workplace stress, musculoskeletal disorders, telehealth, chronic pain, workplace bullying, resilience, mindfulness, and climate-related health risks.

His academic publications include:
