Elie Saab Jr. is a Lebanese business executive who serves as chief executive officer and vice-chairman of the ELIE SAAB Group, the fashion company founded by his father, the couturier Elie Saab.[1] He joined the family company in the early 2010s and, as its commercial direction passed to a second generation, took on responsibility for the group's operations and its expansion beyond haute couture into ready-to-wear, fragrances, accessories, interiors, and branded residential projects.[2][1]
Early life
Saab Jr. is the eldest of the three sons of the Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab.[3] He grew up in connection with his father's fashion house, which had been founded in Beirut in the early 1980s.[4]
Career
In 2013, Saab Jr. became brand director of the Elie Saab company.[4] In a 2016 piece for British Vogue, the fashion journalist Suzy Menkes discussed the next generation of the house and Saab Jr.'s growing role in its planning and development.[3]
By 2018, regional coverage identified him as the most prominent of Elie Saab's sons working within the company. A feature in the pan-Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat on succession among Middle Eastern fashion houses described him in that role and as the company's brand director.[5]
Saab Jr. later became chief executive officer of the ELIE SAAB Group.[2][6] Under his tenure, the company expanded from a couture-centered house into a broader luxury business spanning fashion, fragrances, accessories, interiors, and branded real-estate projects.[2][1]
After the Beirut port explosion of August 2020, which damaged the company's headquarters, Saab Jr. was among the senior figures involved in its response. Reuters reported on the company's determination to continue operating, and Vogue published accounts from the house describing the damage.[7][6]
In a 2023 interview with the Spanish newspaper El País, Saab Jr. described the company's expansion into menswear and other categories, framing it as a response to existing demand in the luxury market.[2]
Saab Jr. has represented the company at industry events and conferences. In 2025, he appeared with Gildo Zegna in a discussion, reported by Women's Wear Daily and Asharq Al-Awsat, on succession and long-term leadership in family-run luxury businesses,[1][8] and he has spoken at events including Oud Fashion Talks.[9]
