Ernst Buckemüller (1898-1961) was a German music teacher
Early Life
Ernst Buckemüller was born on February 5th 1898 in Bestwig, to Local Merchant and church Elder Diedrich Buckemüller [1] and Wilhelmine "Mina" Buckemüller (Née Wenner)
He attended teachers training in Soest passing his first examination in 1920, afterwards he took singing lessons in Berlin training as a vocalist.
Solo Career
During his solo career as a vocalist, Buckemüller performed in various European cities, Oberhausen, Essen, Paris, Etc. At some point during this solo career he moved to Schwerte he was involved in the founding of the "Instrumental Association of Schwerte."
Later life
Postwar he was known to have assisted in the rebuilding of libraries and other civil structures.[1][2] In 1947 he was the first recipient of the Ehrenplakette der Stadt Schwerte. He passed away on July 12th 1961.
