Humanfobia is an electronic and experimental music duo formed in Rancagua, Chile, in 2011. The project consists of sound programmer and mixer Sábila Orbe and lead vocalist and visual contributor Mist Spectra. Their musical output draws from genres such as witch house, dark ambient, noise, and horror synth, accompanied by distinct visual art incorporating gothic, occult, and surreal themes.

History

The project was founded in November 2011 by Chilean digital artist and electronic musician Sábila Orbe, initially using the stylized Unicode typography H∐ϻ▲NҒØɃᏆ▲.[1] The project's earliest internet releases featured instrumental tracks oriented toward dark electronic, noise, and ambient glitch music, distributed through platforms like SoundCloud, Tumblr, and Mediafire. In late 2012, Orbe transitioned the project's title to standard typography as Humanfobia. [2]

In December 2014, Colombian vocalist and photographer Mist Spectra joined the project,[3] initially contributing digital photography, cover art collages, and promotional graphic design. By 2016, she began handling the keyboard and software arrangements during production.

In January 2018, Humanfobia released the extended play (EP) Coimetrofilia, which marked Mist Spectra's debut as the primary lead vocalist. This release also established the duo's use of Spanish-language lyrics,[4][5] distinguishing them within the international witch house scene,[6] where English or symbolic typography is standard.

The duo is also notable for founding the independent netlabels Cian Orbe Netlabel [7] and Witch Spectra [8] [9], which serve as distribution platforms for global underground experimental and electronic musicians.
