John Wise is a British entrepreneur, businessman, and co-founder of financial technology (fintech) companies.[1][2] He is the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Communify Fincentric, a wealth management technology platform.[3]
Wise previously served as the co-founder and CEO of InvestCloud, a fintech company based in Los Angeles, from its founding in 2010 until April 2023.[2][4]
Education
Wise graduated from Reading University with a degree in computer science and applied mathematics.[2]
Career
Early Career
Wise founded multiple technology companies, including Synergo Technology, TCA Syntec, and Netik, which BNY Mellon acquired in 2002.[5]
InvestCloud
In 2010, Wise co-founded InvestCloud, a cloud-based wealth technology platform.[2][6]
In 2021, InvestCloud completed a recapitalization transaction that valued the firm at over $1 billion, leading the company to be referred to as a fintech "unicorn."[7]
Wise departed InvestCloud in April 2023.[4] Before he left, the platform supported approximately $6.5 trillion in assets.[1]
Communify Fincentric
Following his departure from InvestCloud, Wise launched a new venture called Just Build It (JBI), which owns Communify.[6]
In August 2024, Communify acquired Fincentric from S&P Global, forming a new wealth technology platform called Communify Fincentric.[3] Wise was named Chief Executive Officer of the combined firm.[3]
Recognition
Wise was included in the Los Angeles Business Journal's “LA500” list of the region's most influential business leaders in 2025. [1]
He was also named to WealthManagement.com's "Ten to Watch" list in 2016.[2]
