Tô Ngọc Bảo Linh (formerly Tô Mạnh Linh; born October 24, 1988), known professionally as Lynk Lee is a Vietnamese transgender singer-songwriter. She rose to fame through the underground and indie scenes of Vietnam. In 2025, she entered the Top 6 of Miss International Queen Vietnam 2025 and won Best Talent.

Early life

Lynk Lee was born on October 24, 1988 in Hà Bắc (now Bắc Ninh). She was assigned male at birth. From an early age, she showed an ability and passion for singing. When she was 6, she started joining performing groups in her school and province. When she was 12, she wrote her first songs. In 2007, she enrolled in Hanoi Open University as an English Language major.^[1]

Career

In January 2011, Lynk Lee started her YouTube channel and began uploading her own songs.^[2]

In 2012, she released "Tạm biệt nhé" (Goodbye), a song about graduation and the parting ways with your classmates. It soon became viral amongst graduating students across Vietnam. As of 2026, the song has 29 million views on YouTube.^[3] This was the song that catapulted Lynk's popularity into mainstream media. In the same year, she also released other songs such as "Nơi tôi thuộc về" (Where I Belong), "Nếu có thể được yêu" (If I Could Love), and "Tiếng mưa" (The Sound of Rain).^[4][5][6]

In 2013, Lynk Lee competed in the second season of Vietnam's Got Talent and was eliminated in the semi-finals.^[7] Some of her releases that year include "Còn đâu vòng tay" (Missing Your Embrace), "Nắm chặt tay anh nhé" (Hold My Hand), and "Ngày ấy bạn và tôi" (That Day, You and I).^[8][9][10]

In 2014, she had a supporting role in the sitcom Học sinh phố (Street Students), which was uploaded on her own YouTube channel.^[11]

In December 2019, Lynk Lee released the single "Buồn thì cứ khóc đi" (Just Cry If You're Feeling Down).^[12] Before its official release, the chorus of the song was performed in the mashup "Rapcoustic 5", featuring rappers Đen and Kimmese.^[13] The song is her biggest hit so far, garnering 90 million views on YouTube.

In June 2020, Lynk Lee released the music video for "Không dám" (Don't dare to). This is the first project where she was female-presenting.^[14]

On her 34th birthday, Lynk Lee released the music video for "Chắc nên thôi" (Maybe It's Time to Stop) to celebrate the occasion.^[15] The video was filmed in South Korea, where she had her vocal feminisation surgery.^[16]

In 2023, Lynk Lee competed in the first season of Chị đẹp đạp gió rẽ sóng, the Vietnamese spinoff of the Chinese survival show Sisters Who Make Waves.^[17] In April 2025, she performed at the "Chị Đẹp Concert", which featured songs from both seasons of the Vietnamese show.^[18]

In 2025, Lynk Lee entered Miss International Queen Vietnam 2025. She reached the final 6 in the competition and won Best Talent.^[19]

Personal life

Beginning from 2018, Lynk Lee had undergone procedures to change her appearance. These include getting fillers, blepharoplasty, and rhinoplasty. She also adopted a unisex style and a more feminine hairstyle.^[20]

In the beginning of 2020, Lynk Lee came out as a transgender woman.^[21] She shared that she had traveled to South Korea for her sex reassignment surgery. The news came with mixed reactions from the public. Some members of the public called the transition "immoral". At the same time, many celebrities voiced their support for Lynk Lee.^[22]
