Shereene Idriss (born 1984) is an American dermatologist, entrepreneur, and social media educator based in New York City. She is the founder of a clinical skincare brand and dermatology practice.[1][2] Idriss is known for her podcasts that focus on simplifying dermatological science and debunking industry marketing myths.[3]

Biography

Idriss was born and raised in Washington, D.C., to Lebanese parents.[4] She attended a French international school and graduated magna cum laude with honors from George Washington University with a combined B.A./M.D..[5] She completed a research fellowship at Harvard and her dermatology residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.[6]

Idriss commenced practising as a dermatologist at Wexler Dermatology and Union Square Laser Dermatology. In September 2021, she founded her private practice, Idriss Dermatology.[7][8] She is a clinical instructor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.[6]

In 2018, Idriss launched her podcast, the "#PillowtalkDerm" series, on social media, initially filming educational videos from her bed to address patient misinformation.[8][4][9] As of 2025, Idriss had over 3.6 million social media followers;[4] and was frequently cited as an expert in The New York Times, Vogue, and Allure.[10] [11][12] In 2024, she was honored by the Melanoma Research Foundation for her contributions to skin cancer awareness and public education.[13]

Idriss launched her namesake skincare brand in 2022, debuting with the "Major Fade" collection to target hyperpigmentation.[14][15][16] In 2024 her products were stocked by Sephora.[17]

In 2026, she appeared as a guest on The Mel Robbins Podcast, sharing science-backed skincare advice.[18][19]
