The bridge on Florida State Road 46 crosses the St. Johns River, which in this area is an extension of Lake Harney. The river also forms part of a boundary between Seminole County and Volusia County. On the Seminole County side near Geneva, Florida, there area includes the Jolly Gator Fish Camp while the Volusia County, is largely undeveloped and natural for several miles.[3] SR-46 continues east as a rural roadway until reaching Mims, Florida in Brevard County, where it intersects Interstate 95 at exit 223. The route remains primarily two lane through this section section and passes through extensive natural areas. Mims From Spring 2023 - Spring 2024 there. . It is very important as the Bypass/Detour Length is 39.00 kilometers.[4]
There is another bridge close by called the George C. Means Memorial Bridge thanks to an 2006 Florida act. [5] . This bridge is near the Cameron Wight Park at 5502 Old Geneva Rd, Sanford, FL 32771. This bridge goes over Lake Jesup which connects Midway with Geneva , while this bridge over Lake Harney connects Geneva with Volusia County. It crosses Lake Jesup and has a length of 3,740 feet or 1,140 meters and a clearance of 25 feet or 7.6 meters and was built in 2009.
