Stephen Maitland-Lewis is an author.

Early life

Born in England, Maitland-Lewis resides in California and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Career

A member of PEN America, The Authors Guild and the Dramatists Guild, Maitland-Lewis is an author[1][2][3]. He is a former attorney and international investment banker, and received a Bachelor Laws (1966) and Masters of Law (1970) from College of Law, London. In 1969, Maitland-Lewis was admitted to the Law Society of London as a Solicitor.

Personal

Maitland-Lewis is also a trustee and Board Treasurer of the Louis Armstrong House Museum in New York. In 2014, the Louie Armstrong House Museum presented Maitland-Lewis with their annual Louie Award which "honors those who have worked to pre-serve and promote the cultural legacy of the legendary jazz musician.”[4][5][6] He is also on the advisory board of the California Jazz Foundation.
