Sterra is a Singapore-based home-appliance brand that sells household wellness products including water purifiers, air purifiers, dehumidifiers, vacuum cleaners, mattresses and massage chairs. The brand was founded in 2021 by entrepreneurs Chris Lim and Strife Lim. In 2026, Sterra was acquired by Singapore-based consumer electronics company Stryv.

In February 2024, Sterra was probed by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) for inaccuracies in its online advertisement that implied that Singapore's water supply was unfit for drinking.[1] In August 2024, the company issued a public apology after the CCCS investigated false and misleading claims made by Sterra on its website, including water purifiers that were marketed as made-in-Korea, but were manufactured in China.[2]

History

Sterra was founded in Singapore by Chris Lim and Strife Lim. In a 2023 profile, it was reported that the co-founders launched Sterra after earlier e-commerce ventures and that the company had reached eight-figure revenue within two years.[3]

In March 2026, The Business Times, citing Tech in Asia, reported that Singapore-based consumer electronics startup Stryv had fully acquired Sterra for an undisclosed amount. Under the deal, Sterra was expected to continue operating as an independent brand, while Chris Lim was reported to move into an advisory role.[4]
