Team Honeycomb 226ers[1] (previously known as Team Honeycomb Pro Cycling or Team Honeycomb) is a South African-based Elite cycling team.
History
Team Honeycomb was established in 2022 through sponsorship by Honeycomb BEE Ratings.
Marc Pritzen and Casper Kruger were the first riders signed in 2022. In Marc Pritzen's debut year with the team, he won the Cape Town Cycle Tour and Amashova, while placing 2nd at the South African National Road Championships and 94.7 Ride Joburg.
In 2023, the team expanded by signing three additional riders: Tristan Nortje, Jaco van Dyk and Bradley Scott. During this time, Marc Pritzen spent part of the season racing internationally.
In 2024, Johann Trotzky was brought on board and Marc Pritzen returned to the team in South Africa, focusing on his mountain biking roots and teaming up with Tristan Nortje.
In 2025, Bradley Scott left the team to focus on his working career and Tristan left to join Imbuko. During this time, Wessel Botha and Julian Jessop were added to the team. Wessel is XCM SA Champ, beating Tristan to the honors in Karl Kloof in 2024. Julian is a previous African Jersey winner at Cape Epic.
To date, the team has built a strong reputation in South Africa, consistently achieving podium finishes at prestigious cycling events such as the Cape Town Cycle Tour, Cape Epic, 947 Ride Joburg and Race to the Sea (SA Gravel Championships).
Marc Pritzen, Tristan Nortje and Casper Kruger, have also represented the team internationally, competing in events such as UCI Gravel World Championships, Colin Mayer MTB Tour, and 4Islands MTB Epic.
