Krzysztof Jan Stopka (born 1958) is a historian and armenologist, professor at the Jagiellonian University, since 2011 director of the Jagiellonian University Museum.

Biography

In 1982 he graduated in history from Jagiellonian University.[2][3] In 1992 he obtained doctorate[2][3] upon dissertation Szkoły katedralne metropolii gnieźnieńskiej w średniowieczu na tle europejskim supervised by Jerzy Wyrozumski.[4] In 2003 he obtained habilitation.[2][3] He supervised six doctoral dissertations.[2][3]

From 2004 to 2011 he was the director of the Jagiellonian University Archive.[1] From 2011 he is the director of the Jagiellonian University Museum.[1] His research interests include the history of education, culture and the Church in the Middle Ages and modern times, as well as the history of the Armenians.[1] He was co-founder and first editor-in-chief of the journal Lehahayer.[5]
