Marc Plantegenest (French: [mˈaʁk plɑ̃təʒnˈɛst]; 11 June 1943 – 6 May 2026) was a French politician who was an independent aligned with the Socialist Party (PS).[1]
Plantegenest served as a deputy in the National Assembly from 1978 to 1981[2] before joining the Senate from 1981 to 1986.[3] He was also mayor of Saint-Pierre from 1998 to 2001.[1] In 1981, he supported the candidacy of Valéry Giscard d'Estaing in the presidential election.[4]
Plantegenest died on 6 May 2026, at the age of 82.[1]
