Fails criteria 1, 3, and 4. The lead section is far too long for the article length and includes a random paragraph (with typos) about an alumni who was convicted of corruption in Malaysia. Additionally, the history section needs significant reorganization. It also appears that the article isn't up to date, as the last dated event in the article is hiring a new headmaster in 2019. Finally, there's a fair amount of PEACOCKing. voorts (talk/contributions) 02:27, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
- Unfortunately GA often accumulate trash edits, school articles in particular, and especially if the creator or caretaker is retired from Wikipedia. The solution to this of course is simply to restore to a stable version that still meets the GA criteria on which it passed GA. 2001:44C8:4180:42D:D0AF:62A2:39D7:66AA (talk) 02:51, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
- The issue with reverting is that the article passed GA in 2010. That version of the article would fail 3a as the article would be out of date by 13 years. voorts (talk/contributions) 02:57, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
History section, subsection World War II - is it relevant to outline the history of the TRE since it left the school?
Well done with the restoration to Good Article status, but I question how germane the paragraph giving the outline of the TRE since it left Malvern College premises post 1945 is to the history of the school. If the articles on Malvern town and the TRE adequately cover what it says, then I suggest it be replaced with a narration of its departure from the premises and the resumption of occupation by the school. After 1946 we see nothing about the school history until 1965 leaving a near 20-year gap between then and the mid 60s.Cloptonson (talk) 10:01, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the thanks. It was good to get it back to GA although, as the main author knows, the journey was not without its bumps! As to the last para. of World War II, for me it doesn’t seem that undue; rather a rounding out of the story, and with some relevance as the later developments were on former college land. But let’s see if User:Kudpung takes a different view. All best wishes. KJP1 (talk) 12:25, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- p.s. As to a blank between the forties and the sixties, I think it is probably just the case that not much of note happened. Certainly, when I was taking my alma mater through GA, I found plenty of decades-long periods when very little outside of the normal run of the school year seemed to have taken place. - I concur with KJP1. Both TRE and the school have had a huge impact on Malvern's post-war history as any boomer knows who hails from the area or studied in any of the schools there. The paragraph does indeed nicely round out the story emphasising that not only is history about the past, but it is constantly in the making - the school and QinetiQ still being major contributors to it.
