Commonwealth Games appearances (overview)

The Gambia is scheduled to compete at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.[1] This will mark the country's 13th participation at the games, after making its debut at the 1970 Commonwealth Games.

The Gambia team is expected to compete in four sports: Athletics, judo, swimming and track cycling.[2][3][4] The full Gambian team of 12 athletes was was announced on 4 July 2026[5].

Athletics

Gambia named seven athletes for the 2026 Commonwealth Games track and field events[5].

  • Gina Bass - Women's 100m, 4x100m[4]
  • Isatou Sey - Women's 100m, 4x100m[4]
  • Nyimasata Jawneh - Women's 200m, 4 x 100m[4]
  • Haddy Jarju - Women's 200m, 4x100m[4]
  • Ebrima Camara - Men's 100m, 200 m
  • Alieu Joof - Men's 100m
  • Lamin Camara - Men's 100m, 200m
  • Sirreh Sanneh- Women's long jump

Swimming

Gambia have named two swimmers for the Commonwealth Games swim meet[5].

Judo

Gambia entered two judoka into the judo tournament at the 2026 Commonwealth Games,

Cycling

Gambia entered a single cyclist into the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
