Release

Q&A following the Los Angeles premiere of Two Sleepy People on October 29, 2025.

Two Sleepy People premiered at the Paramount Theater in Austin on April 26, 2025, as part of the Camp Film Fest.[a]

Two Sleepy People's national theatrical tour began on October 25, 2025 in Seattle, with subsequent stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.[4][13] Ryan noted that one screening led to four couples breaking up.[4] Viewers could vote to bring screenings of the film to their city.[2][9][13]

Via a deal with Attend Theatrical Marketplace, Two Sleepy People gained a wide release, opening November 14 in twenty markets. It was part of a three film deal.[5][3][14] Subsequently, the crowdfunding company Kickstarter supported a wider theatrical release for the film.[10][15] Its nationwide release opened on January 23, 2026.[15]

In May 2026, mk2 alt acquired European distribution rights.[16]

Reception

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 97% of critics' reviews are positive. The website's consensus reads: "Made in just 100 days, Two Sleepy People is a modern rom-com that will have you laughing one minute and wiping your eyes the next. It's a story about two distant coworkers who, every night, find themselves married, but every morning, they're strangers. Written & directed by Baron Ryan (@americanbaron), from TikTok to the big screen -- this is Internet Cinema's debut."
