About
I've been using Wikipedia for many years. I joined out of a desire to improve long-underdeveloped articles, particularly ones with available references that simply haven't been used. So far, I've greatly enjoyed my experience here, and hope to continue helping out. If you're an editor here, thank you; if you're not, then it's a great time to start.
Projects
I usually work in the area of WikiProject Anime and manga, a personal interest of mine. I focus on adding details about series' productions and receptions, which are crucial for establishing real-world context and notability. I also assist with internal project pages, such as by updating listings of reliable sources at WP:A&M/ORS.
While the media I work on overlap with my personal interests to some extent, the degree of available sourcing is what usually takes precedence. In a few cases, I've even improved articles about series I'm personally not a fan of, which, if I've done my job well, should look pretty much the same as the ones I do enjoy. It also means my openness to collaborating on an certain article might be greater than you expect, so always feel free to ask.
Aside from that, I'm part of WikiProject California and WikiProject Music, two topics quite important to me. I also enjoy copyediting; I see it as a small amount of work to help improve the impact of others' efforts. If that sounds appealing, considering joining the Guild of Copy Editors. Finally, I do a mishmash of cleanup and maintenance work, including standardizing formatting with AutoWikiBrowser (and its amazing relative, wAwB), adding citations to unreferenced articles, and reviewing new articles.
I'm interested in editor retention, and have signed up as a mentor for new users, along with welcoming them whenever possible. I encourage others to do the same.
