The Australian Weapons Manufacturing Complex (AWMC) is a missile production facility planned to be operational by 2029 either in the state of Victoria or New South Wales. The facility will be owned by the Department of Defence in partnership with Lockheed Martin Australia. The AWMC forms a key part of Australia's Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Plan (GWEO), which with other facilities such as Kongsberg Missile Factory – Australia, aims to build a sovereign missile production capability.
The AWMC will manufacture the GMLRS family of missiles, which Australia operates through its M142 HIMARS systems. The facility, when operational, will make more than a quarter of the world's GMLRS missiles each year.
