Knowledge is a thing that everyone likes to share. With this intention in my mind,I joined Wikipedia in August 2011,so that I can share my knowledge with the rest of the world.
I live in Hooghly district of West Bengal in India. My time zone is +5:30 hrs from the GMT. I have been encouraging people to join Wikipedia. User:Deeponstar is a close friend of mine, who I encouraged to join. Also, User:Dazzlingstar090 is my sister. Yep, there's no meat puppetry going on here, I'm just encouraging to join. Wikipedia: Why I joined it
I was pretty much unfamiliar with Wikipedia until late 2008. The reason behind it was that I had no internet access then. I used my mobile to search for information on different topics and always found that Wikipedia was, for most times, the #1 result in Google. This tempted me to open a account in Wikipedia. But sadly I did not create any account in Wikipedia until 15th August, 2011. This was because I was personally busy at that moment. Soon after creating a account, I was a slow learner. Yes, I had made copyright violation with the second article, as I was not aware of the copyright policies, like most of the newbies. I wasn't much active in Agust, but my eagerness to contribute to Wikipedia led me to where I'm now. I have been reverting vandalism and creating articles, mostly stubs, a few DYKs and start class articles. You may contact me if you are a new editor and I'll definitely help. I also do some outreach work, encourage my family members and friends to create an account in Wikipedia and start contributing. I know that your RfA didnt go well and you wouldn't even have succeed. But as you stated in the closing sentence, don't let your spirits down. You'll be an admin for sure in next 1 year or some. You are a kind of editor who would have easily got admin rights in 2006 or 2005, but as the standards of wiki has gone high, it is tough to get through (for example; Education has improved in India, but also it has become tough to get adminssion in your favourite college). So do not worry and keep up the tempo and good work.
