I will be in Brazil till July 16th with little internet access

After many months of debating the need to make a formal comment on my recent inactivity as well as ups and downs with contributions I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that I can no longer keep up with my previous output on Wikipedia. Health issues, combined with being a full time student and part time employee have left me with little downtime, and what downtime I do have is often carefully delegated between several different tasks. That being said, I do not want the roles I previously played on this project to go unfulfilled (I am not overstating my importance in any way, while many of the things I did are not unique, there are many areas in which I seemed to contribute a great deal). I encourage anyone to reach out to me with questions, particularly regarding the following:

  1. Any of the articles I have listed on the articles tab of my user page.
  2. GAR and FAR in the field of med/psych
  3. hunting down sources for a topic area
  4. medical stubs
  5. requested medical articles - i have devoted significant time to this area and can usually tell off the top of my head if the topics listed in the missing diseases pages are notable.
  6. mentoring new medical editors.
  7. i do consider myself to be particularly knowledgeable on the topics of pituitary disorders, hereditary forms of colon cancer, adrenal insufficiency, malnutrition (as a whole and specific deficiencies), factitious disorder (imposed on self), functional gastrointestinal disorders, ARFID, chronic pain, psychiatric medication side effect profiles, and lupus. I am not claiming any expertise here but these are broadly the areas that i have keyword alerts for and try to keep up to date on in literature.

Since creating new articles is always of interest to new editors I thought I would make a list of probably notable topics:

On Wikipedia, I go by IntentionallyDense (formerly CursedWithTheAbilityToDoTheMath or CWTATDTM) but my real name is Liam. I use He/him pronouns and identify as male. My username is a reference to the show House MD. I live in Canada and therefore I use mostly British spelling. Outside of Wikipedia, I work part-time as a cook and will be attending university full-time starting in the fall of 2025. If I'm not editing Wikipedia then I'm most likely reading, with friends, or editing in After Effects.

On Wikipedia, I pretty much exclusively contribute to wikiproject medicine. In the early days of my Wikipedia editing, I worked on making redirects for the subpages of missing diseases. I was able to get the list from 38.5% completed to 71.4% completed and in the process made close to 2,000 redirects. The list is now mostly filled with orphan diseases and I might still pick away at some of the notable diseases.

Sometime in late 2023, I decided to try bot editing. I didn't like it very much and stopped that in February 2024.

I assessed a lot medical pages over at unassessed medicine articles and after getting rid of the backlog there I decided to try and work on the backlog over at unassessed articles. So far I have, with the help of some others, gotten the backlog from over 76,000 to around 18,000. I still occasionally pick away at this backlog.

At some point I decided to expand a lot of disease stubs. This is still a work in progress. Currently, I'm working on expanding dermal and subcutaneous growth stubs.

More recently my editing has been focused on improving a number of pages, fixing citation errors, and reviewing GAs. I've also been attempting to get a few pages to GA and FA status.
