Your recent edit 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election
It is noted that you have removed content that was properly cited with third-party sources, including statements documented in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly records. In particular, the sections highlighting the achievements of the government, which were supported by verifiable references, have been repeatedly deleted.
Such repeated removals without prior discussion may be considered disruptive editing or vandalism. I am therefore restoring the previous version of the article that included these verified sources.
Please refrain from removing well-sourced content without consensus. If you have any concerns or objections, kindly raise them here on the talk page. FactCheckerBharath (talk) 12:26, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- @FactCheckerBharath: I have replied to you on your talk page. I restored your content with the required clarification as official statement. I try my best to ensure NPOV without any political bias and asking you to do the same. Anbarasan1523 (talk) 12:28, 8 November 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hello, I'm NotJamestack. An edit that you recently made to Talk:2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is usually unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. NotJamestack (talk) 14:59, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- @NotJamestack: Sorry and thanks for the clarification. Anbarasan1523 (talk) 15:07, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- Also, please remember the second requirement of WP:EDITREQUESTs: that they must be uncontroversial or must implement an already agreed upon consensus. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 16:06, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

16th Tamil Nadu Assembly
Hi @Anbarasan1523. Please don't make any format changes to the tables. These are standard formats being used on all assembly pages. Furthermore, portions of the table are transcluded on district articles which you had removed. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:25, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Dhruv edits: the current version of the table is outdated. I'm the one who transcluded the page yesterday. But I transcluded an outdated version, instead of the better one. Now it's clear. Anbarasan1523 (talk) 08:36, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Anbarasan1523 There are a lot of issues in this new table. The transclusions on district pages is not working. Also the key in the top column is not required. The names of members before bypolls are missing in this new format also. Please restore the old version and make relevant changes therein. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:48, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Dhruv edits: I removed the key in the top column. Districts are added again. Give me some time to update previous members. I think it's not required to show previous members, we can mention it in remarks, as in 15th Kerala Assembly. Anbarasan1523 (talk) 08:55, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Anbarasan1523 The table seems fine now except adding members that have resigned/died. Adding members both before and after by election/ vacancy (in separate rows) is necessary since the earlier members were a part of the 16th Tamil Nadu Assembly. This is how it has been done on most assembly pages like 16th Karnataka Assembly. Dhruv edits (talk) 13:20, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Dhruv edits: Let me correct it also. Anbarasan1523 (talk) 13:23, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Anbarasan1523 👍 Dhruv edits (talk) 14:05, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Anbarasan1523 I have added citations for all resignations, death, expulsions etc in the notes column. Please add citations for these if you come accross such things in other assembly articles. Dhruv edits (talk) 14:26, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

Assam constituencies
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of a page by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.
I have done this for Borkhola Assembly constituency, but please do the same for all the other constituency articles that you've created in the same way. Please feel free to ask me for help if you need it for this task. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 06:03, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- @MPGuy2824: Thank you. I have done merge request for all the articles in which I have copy-pasted.Anbarasan1523 (talk) 07:46, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- Good. Hopefully an admin comes soon to take care of it.
- Another point, I don't think these are current constituencies. They will actually come into effect only when the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly election takes place. The constituencies from 2011 election are still the current constituencies and they will be considered defunct once the upcoming election takes place. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:06, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- @MPGuy2824: the List of constituencies of the Assam Legislative Assembly mentions new constituencies as "current". I used the term "abolished" (legally ceased to exist) for the former constituencies, not "defunct" (which happens after the election). Anbarasan1523 (talk) 08:14, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- I think the list is wrong in the same way. They aren't yet abolished IMO, but scheduled to be. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:15, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Anbarasan1523, @MPGuy2824, After order passed of delimitation, everything came into effect. All MLAs of renamed constituencies are called MLAs of newly named area. Abolished constituencies such as Badarpur are no longer valid as the area came under Karimganj North Assembly constituency. So MLA of Badarpur is an MLA on paper but he have no area. while North Karimganj MLA is governing areas as per delimitation. So Delimitation is in effect and 2026 election isn't a barrier.––KEmel49(📝,📋) 13:00, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- @KEmel49: Agree. Also, the official results 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Assam used the new constituency names in final result sheet.e.g. proves that the new constituencies came to exist officially since 2023. Anbarasan1523 (talk) 13:07, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- The Form20 data clinches it: The Chief Electoral Officer is considering them official ACs. We can also do the same. If you are changing old constituencies I would still put 2026 as when they are abolished. We are in a transition stage right now until the 2026 election. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 14:44, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- When you get the time, please update the number of electors in the main table at List of constituencies of the Assam Legislative Assembly based either on the 2024 form20 refs, or the delimitation ref from 2023. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 15:01, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

- OK, I think all the history merges are done. We are still left with a small issue though: Barkhola Assembly constituency is now a redirect that points to Borkhola Assembly constituency, but there is no mention of Barkhola in the target. I suggest that you change the lead sentence in the target to "Borkhola or Barkhola is one of the 126" OR "Borkhola Assembly constituency (previously known as Barkhola) is one of the 126". This needs to be done for all the pages that were hist-merged. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:03, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- @MPGuy2824: Done. Based on the official source , only three constituencies were renamed (spelling changed) in 2023 - Mahmara, Mangaldoi and Barkhola - now I mentioned them as "formerly known as" in brackets. Barkhetry's official spelling was Barkhetri in 2021 also , so no brackets required for it. Anbarasan1523 (talk) 05:43, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
