Proposed deletion of Club 100 (Russia)

The article Club 100 (Russia) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Created by Sport-Express, and only sourced to Sport-Express. Lacks notability.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Fram (talk) 15:49, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello!
- Why was a deletion template placed without a deletion discussion? I see that you have indicated the reason as 'Lacks notability'
- But the fact is, this club is currently one of the most popular and significant in Russian football. It is literally a club of the best Russian strikers who have scored at least 100 goals (only 35 persons in history). The fact that it was created by 'Sport-Express' does not mean it is not notable. Look, there are pages about it not only in the Russian-language section but also in the Polish and Bulgarian ones. I was, frankly speaking, surprised that there is no page about it in English, which is why I decided to create one. Moreover, there is a page here about Grigory Fedotov club, which is indeed much less significant and popular nowadays (it is more about Soviet players, while this one is about Russian).
- Once again, this page primary goal is not the popularization of 'Sport-Express'; they just happen to be the ones who keep detailed records and provide updates. To reiterate, this is not an advertisement, but a factual list of Russia's best strikers Aqob (talk) 11:51, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Fram I get why you nominated it — no sources except Sport-Express. If I find some more authoritative ones, can we keep the article then? Aqob (talk) 12:21, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- Look, Template:Football_in_Russia even here "100 club" is mentioned, and there is a page Footballer of the Year in Russia (Sport-Express) so i think it is realy notable. By the way, should it be renamed to "100 club" or "Russian 100 goalscorers club" Aqob (talk) 13:08, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
