Your submission at Articles for creation: Ashwini Sharan (July 15)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by RangersRus was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Hi RangerRus,
Thank you for your edits. Regarding your comment: "Please provide significant coverage on the subject through secondary independent reliable sources and not from sources that the subject is associated or affiliated with."
It is my view that the sources provided clearly demonstrate significant coverage of Dr. Sharan and are not affiliated or otherwise associated with him. For example, professional society leadership biographies are written by independent parties. Scientific citations, including patents (several of which were included) are peer-reviewed. More citations include the standardized faculty page from Jefferson, which is also developed by a 3rd party, as well as a New York Times article about Dr. Sharan's work. Can you please clarify what further sources are asked by the Editors, as well as how the provided materials are not sufficiently independent as Dr. Sharan has had no part in crafting any of them?
Further, regarding notability, Dr. Sharan was elected President of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the foremost professional society of neurosurgeons in the world. This fulfills the notability criteria for academics, even though Dr. Sharan is much more than an academic and has had a broader impact on technology and policy.
