June 2026

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to J. K. Mehta when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 19:06, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

I have received this automatic message a few times, and you really need to change its wording. I did not "introduce" an unknown paramater to any infobox or template. I simply made an unrelated edit and the infobox got noticed for including some old parameter that was deprecated or discontinued by someone else. It's not my fault that it's still there from years and years before I made a good faith edit on an unrelated matter. The message implies that I committed an error by adding something. Turn it off or find some other automated solution. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 17:30, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Your edit Special:Diff/1360636016 added the line | Religion = [[Zoroastrianism]] at line 13. You gave no explanation for you edit other than to say for consistency. This was not an unrelated edit and did not include some old parameter that was deprecated or discontinued. The capitalized |Religion= has NEVER been a valid parameter on {{Infobox person}}. I would like you to explain how you don't think that you committed an error? How is adding | Religion = [[Zoroastrianism]] at line 13, code which does not work, has never worked and produces a clear preview warning error message, not an error? All my message was saying was to preview your edits. Had you done that, you would have seen the problem.
Now lets be clear, this is not a huge problem, but you complaining that I have accused you of making a mistake that you didn't make is patently ridiculous. Anyone who looks at the diff of your edit can see that you inserted the code... So explain? Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:40, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
That "Special: Diff" page is wrong, for reasons that I cannot explain. All I did was change the previous "JK" for the gentleman's name because "J. K." was used elsewhere in the article. and that's what "for consistency" is about. I did not make a single one of the other edits listed in that "Special: Diff" page. It is reasonable for you to conclude that I made those other changes but I did not. After your edit to remove that unknown parameter, someone else reverted your edits to the article with a vandalism claim. Perhaps that is why the history is mixed up on who changed what. But again, I absolutely did not add any parameters. So there's the explanation to you that you demanded as if you are some sort ot authority figure. The wording in your automated message still needs to be changed, because I have received it before after making minor fixes to an infobox without doing a single thing to parameters. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 17:56, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Let's be clear, you are claiming that the software has a bug that only affects your edits? What is MUCH more likely, is that you are trying to make minor edits, but failing to do so because you do not understand how to do the most basic thing, which is to WP:PREVIEW your edits. You made all the changes in the diff, that is not up for debate. Now if you didn't mean to make all those edits, that is totally fine! Mistakes happen, but saying you didn't do something that is so clearly documented is beyond gaslighting.
I will not be changing the non-automated message that I manually place on your page when you introduce unknown parameters. What is more, if you continue to do so, with unclear edit summaries of for consistency I will next time file an WP:ANI. Your edits are disruptive and your claims that you only changed the spelling of a word when you actually made massive changes to the page are very concerning and border on a WP:CIR issue.
Moving forward, please make sure you WP:PREVIEW your edits to make sure you are not making more edits than you intend to. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:20, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
I did not do a single thing the J. K. Mehta article except change "JK" to "J. K." for consistency and I cannot explain what is showing up at the Special:Diff page, though I did propose a theory on how someone later made a reversion to both your and my edits and perhaps the history got mixed up. That may or may not be a bug, but if it is I did not say that it only affects me.
Also, see my Wikipedia edit history before you accuse me of incompetence and disruptive editing. Perform an investigation and find one example of incompetence or disruptive editing in my 60,000+ other edits since 2006. Also, find evidence that I have any interest in altering the article on Mr. Mehta beyond fixing typos (I had not heard of him before) or evidence that I am interesting in disrupting articles by adding parameters to infoboxes. False accusations would be relevant for that threat you just made. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 18:36, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
I did not do a single thing the J. K. Mehta article except change "JK" to "J. K." for consistency is 100%, irrefutably false. Anyone who doubts that can look at Special:Diff/1360636016. No false accusations. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:47, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
I would not be arguing in this fashion if I had made those changes and had reason to deny them. If so, I would have put them back after you removed them. I did not make those changes, period. You have assumed, perhaps with good reason, that Special:Diff pages are always accurate. They may not be, but if you think they are then provide evidence. Same goes for your accusations of incompetence or disruptive intentions on my part. Back up your in-depth knowledge about my intentions toward Wikipedia. See also WP:AGF which is what's truly "irrefutable" around here. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 19:05, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mandala (band), a link pointing to the disambiguation page Religious revival was added.
