Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) caste-related topics in South Asia.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

- Hey i wanted to ask you for a tip hnestly im not very good at article creation yet but I saw your article creation work one thing I was curious about you dont seem to have many created articles yourself so how did you get those rights? GovHP (talk) 21:46, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Creating a new article takes a lot of work, and I have been working on one for a couple of months. I got those user rights by requesting them while being in good standing, and demonstrating an understanding of the policies and guidelines that are required. --Gurkubondinn 21:50, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- That makes sense i was wondering the same thing because.. I thought maybe you must have done other kinds of volunteer work too like anti-vandalism patrolling edits helping with maintenance, reporting issues or other policy-related work before getting those rights? GovHP (talk) 21:53, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- I have also contributed to articles that were initially created by other editors. This is a collaborative project, articles are not written by just a single editor. Many new users think that creating new articles is what they should be doing, but there are many other valuable ways to contribute to the project. Creating new article is perhaps one of the most difficult tasks that you can do on Wikipedia, and rushing to create a bunch of new articles is not always advisable. But to answer your question, I have done a lot of work around the WP:NOLLM policy, finding AI-generated text (and editors using AI), explaining to editors that they should not use AI (and are not allowed to use it), explaining why that is, and cleaning it all up. This is extremely time consuming and tedious work. --Gurkubondinn 21:57, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Well then i am also become more familiar with LLM-generated text current situation going on 😅 as well. So in cases where an article clearly appears AI-generated would it be appropriate for me to tag or report it or should I avoid doing that until I have more experience with the policy? GovHP (talk) 22:03, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- If you believe that it is AI-generated, then you should tag it with
{{AI-generated}}. If you are unsure, you can ask for advice on WP:AINB. To learn you to recognise it, you should read the WP:AISIGNS advice page. Following AINB for a while will also help you learn. --Gurkubondinn 22:06, 18 May 2026 (UTC)- Thanks I’ll keep those AI guideline in my user page for reference. Appreciate the guidance. GovHP (talk) 22:08, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- How to use mobile Twinkle?? GovHP (talk) 22:11, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- No idea, I don't edit from a phone. But i know that there is something called twinkle mobile somewhere. And about Twinkle, you should first do things "manually" before using Twinkle to do them, so that you understand what is happening. That's not a requirement or anything, just some advice. --Gurkubondinn 09:26, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- No worries(: I already installed it after reading the setup and guideline pages. I m also asking questions on Wikipedia:Twinkle talk page about it first. I’ll make sure I properly understand how everything works before actually using it regularly. GovHP (talk) 09:30, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Sure; I just mean that if you nominate something for a WP:CSD then there are a few things involved;
- For things like an AfD nomination, there are more parts involved. So going through the motions a couple of times by doing it all by hand just helps you better understand what is going on. --Gurkubondinn 09:47, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Speaking of speedy deletions, would you be okay with me moving Jessica Berlin back into draft space (or doing it yourself)? --Gurkubondinn 09:48, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah yeah thats completely fine with me. I dont mind moving it back to draft space for improvement and sourcing work first. GovHP (talk) 09:54, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Cool, then I can withdraw the CSD :) --Gurkubondinn 09:55, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

- Please see and review my blocked how i blocked? GovHP (talk) 15:46, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Have you had a Wikipedia account before? The checkusers don't really make mistakes with this. --Gurkubondinn 16:06, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- Noooo..and honestly i would not even know how to do that properly yet thats why I’ve been asking experienced editors questions about guidelines Twinkle anti-vandalism AfD and editing processes. Also if you compare the edits and topics between this account and User:Alakmarsaify the editing style interests and work patterns are completely different. Im still learning and trying to contribute constructively not evade anything GovHP (talk) 16:09, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- And another thing — from what I can see the Alakmarsaify account was recreating similar topics repeatedly from different IPs/devices which is probably why CheckUser action failed there. If I were actually trying to evade something logically i would be editing the topics and patterns from the same connections which is failed.. But my editing topics style and activity are clearly different. I’m genuinely just a new editor trying to learn how Wikipedia works properly. GovHP (talk) 16:12, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Gurkubondinn. An edit that you recently made to Kunj Behari Lal Butail seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is not allowed on Wikipedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or ask your questions at the Teahouse, a friendly place for new users. Thanks. --Gurkubondinn 21:48, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
What
@Izno its misunderstanding GovHP (talk) 15:29, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Why??

GovHP (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log) • SI)
Request reason:
I believe this block may be a misunderstanding. I have not intentionally abused multiple accounts or attempted to evade any block or ban. I am still learning Wikipedia policies and editing practices and I am willing to cooperate fully and answer any concerns. Please review my case again. GovHP (talk) 15:34, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Decline reason:
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
